***You must choose textured if you want textured***
Instructions:
1. Make sure nothing is protruding.
2. Wipe off the area to assure that the surface is clean and dust free.
3. Peel off the Goof-Light Patch from the backing.
4. Apply the first piece of Goof Light Patch over the top of the damaged area, around the outside of the recessed light (can light). Be sure to leave a small gap around the metal housing of the light. This gap will be covered by the lights trim ring.
5. Press firmly outside of the damaged area to assure proper adhesion to the surface of the ceiling, and to allow the Goof Light Patch to conform to to the ceiling finish.
6. Apply additional Goof Light Patches as needed in order to cover more significant damage. When applying additional Goof-Light Patches, simply overlap the ends of the patches.
7. In order to repair a variety of recessed light sizes, simply overlap the Goof Light Patches around the edges until the area needed is covered.
8. If repairing around a smaller size recessed light, you can simply cut the Goof-Light Patch through the middle. This way you will have two identical size pieces. After cutting the product into two pieces, you can simply start to place them around the light housing as described above until the damaged area around the light is completely repaired. Be sure to overlap the cut pieces in order to maintain the needed diameter repair.
9. PAINT.
Optional:
1. For smooth surfaces, the edges of the Goof-Light Patches can be skimmed with joint compound (drywall mud) in order to have a perfect match. Skim the edges only! Avoiding damaged area.
2. For textured surfaces, the Goof-Light Patches can be textured over, in order to have a better match to your ceilings finish.
